New Year Bucket-List Adventure
Published on: 04/01/22
Last week’s blog was about building a positive attitude and mental resilience to help achieve your goals and a sense of wellbeing. Armed with life-hacks to get you feeling good, January is a great time to blow out the winter cobwebs and get active, creating endorphins which boost your natural immune system (which, let’s face it, is probably due some love!)
After a couple of years when many activities had to be put on hold, surveys show people are dusting off their bucket lists and booking activities or holidays of a lifetime to dream destinations. So reach for the sky with our suggestions below, for activities that are all about seizing the day, not seizing up!
Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, Wales
If you want white-knuckle thrills slightly closer to the ground, head for North Wales. In what once was the world’s largest slate quarry, Penrhyn Quarry is now home to the fastest zip line in the world, Velocity 2, where you can fly at speeds of up to and over 100mph, 500m above the bright blue quarry lake. With over 1.5 kilometres of descent over 4 parallel zip lines, Velocity 2 allows you to enjoy the experience alongside your family and friends.
Or try Quarry Karts, the UK’s only mountain cart experience, starting 1,500 feet above sea level and hurtling through an intimidating course of obstacles and dizzying views to the quarry floor. With its own stunning views of Snowdonia, the Blondin restaurant is the perfect place to catch your breath and relax afterwards, or plot a visit to one of Zip World’s thrilling partner attractions across Wales, including Zip World Slate Caverns, Fforest, and Tower.
