Keswick Climbing Wall

What is it?
Rock Climbing is an ascent of a rock face using appropriate safety gear such as a harness, belay and ropes.
What Will You Do?
Once you have been issued with your gear, you will head off to a local crag (rock face) with your Instructor in a centre mini-bus. After a short walk, and once you are at the crag, you will learn how to use the climbing gear correctly and be how to stay safe when climbing or belaying your partner. You will also learn techniques to help you climb

Offering climbers of all abilities with every challenge they could want. If you haven’t climbed before we can give you a lesson, or if you are a competent climber, there are plenty of routes waiting to test your skills.

Rookery Woods is an adventure play area designed for the younger adventurer and is ideal for anyone aged 8 and under.

At only 5.00 per child for the day, there is a great range of exciting activities to keep them busy

What is it?
A series of challenges set in the treetops of our onsite woodland.
What Will You Do?
Climb, slide, balance and swing you way through the trees at height (approx.30 feet). Always under the supervision of your Instructor, you will travel through the tree tops to the final zip-line back to terra firma.

ZIPLINE: After meeting your Instructor and getting fitted with harness and helmet, you climb to the top of the 14m tower, pausing to take in a sweeping view of the Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathra ranges – unique and stunning view of the heart of the Lakes. Your Instructor will then get you ready and go through the procedure with you then its take off and you fly over the fell to the landing spot, where another Instructor will assist you.

Keswick Climbing Wall now has a unique and exciting activity at the Goosewell Farm site – Field Archery. After a session on traditional archery targets to hone your shooting skills you are led by an Instructor through the woodland around the centre “hunting” our specially made foam creatures. Hares to herons, deer to badgers are all hiding out in the woods and with the changing terrain, weather and undergrowth, tracking your dinner becomes a bit more challenging

What is it?
Kayaks are single seated boats and you have a double ended paddle to propel you through the water.
What Will You Do?
After some basic instruction in paddle strokes and safety, you will head out with your Instructor to explore Derwentwater, maybe visiting an island or two. You will get a very different view of the area from the Lake – it is stunning!

Canoes are 2 / 3 seated boats and you have single ended paddles to propel you through the water.
What Will You Do?
After some basic instruction in paddle strokes and safety, you will head out with your Instructor to explore Derwentwater, maybe visiting an island or two. You will get a very different view of the area from the Lake – it is stunning!

What is it?
A wet descent of a Lakeland mountain stream.

What Will You Do?
Led by your Instructor, you will slide, jump, and dive down the stream, jump off waterfalls and plunge into pools – all in Nature’s own wet and wild adventure playground!
