Why Use Let’s Go Out for your Stag Party Planning and Activities
Any casual Google search of ‘things to do on a stag party’ will give you a mind-boggling array of choices. How can you be sure that the activities will be any good, that they will welcome stag parties, or that you won’t get ripped off?
Let’s Go Out is a national website that was built specifically to help people find things to do, and over the years we’ve built up an incredible resource of over 6000 activities all over the UK. We get to know the companies and venues that we work with, and make sure they are offering quality experiences so that everyone has a great time.
Because of our relationship with our venues and activity centres, we can negotiate the best prices for your stag do activity. We can also arrange awesome package deals to build a day out or a weekend to suit different personalities and budgets. After all, the reason you’re the best man is that you know the groom better than anyone, so we want to help you come up with a truly personalised event.
At Let’s Go Out we also understand that every stag party is different, and we can help you organise as much or as little as you want. If the burden of arranging transport, accommodation AND a hefty dose of fun lies heavily on your shoulders, you can hand all of that over to us. Or if you’re just looking for us to book the activities, we can do that too (and get you the best price)!
Traditional Stag Party Ideas
There are some activities that have become synonymous with stag parties, and we say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! If your mate is someone who lives for , you can bet that he’ll love a day of quad biking or paint balling. You could try extreme quad bike trekking, a chance to go truly off-road and explore mature woodlands, swamps, brooks, open fields, mounds, and open arenas where you can really get some speed up. If you’ve done paint balling to death, try Airsoft. There is much more emphasis on realistic battle simulation, with magazine-fed weapons and military strategy playing a big part in the game play.
We think there’s a reason these outdoor activities are so popular for stags – they help the group bond by having a shared experience, and are fantastic at breaking the ice for those in the group that don’t know each other very well (I’m looking at you, Uni friend, Work friend and Father-in-Law).
Novelty Stag Party Ideas
If you want to offer the stag something a bit different, why not up the ante a bit? Instead of driving around a field on a quad bike, level up to a 60-ton tank! From experiencing authentic battlefield conditions to playing an actual game of ‘tank paintball’, this is the way to really make a stag party memorable.
Another option could be kayaking to the pub. Forget the usual stag party bar crawl, this mode of transportation is much more civilized! Arrive in style and take in some stunning scenery along the way. By the time you arrive you’ll have worked up quite a thirst and that first pint will taste even better.
Stag Party Planning FAQs
What is a stag party?
If you’ve never been to a stag party before, you need to know that they’ve changed A LOT over the past 30 or so years. If your dad went on a stag, it was probably a simple affair in the local pub involving lots of drinking and maybe a game or two of pool. These days, people expect scenes straight out of The Hangover rather than Only Fools and Horses. Destination stags in far-flung places, thousands of pounds spent over a single weekend, and adrenalin-fuelled activities are par for the course now.
But forget all the clichés, at Let’s Go Out we feel that a stag party should be suited to the individual. It’s not about blowing the budget and drinking yourself stupid. It all comes down to the personality of the stag and what they would enjoy; don’t forget, this party isn’t about what you want to do!
Where do you cover within the UK at Let's Go Out?
We work with companies all over the UK, so whether you’re looking for venues close to home or want to plan a fun weekend away, we’ve got you covered. We can also help you book transport and accommodation, which are two less things to worry about.
How much does a stag party cost?
How long is a piece of string! The cost will vary depending on what you’re hoping to do and whether you’re staying away for a weekend or just out for the day. But don’t forget, it’s up to you to make sure the whole affair is affordable for everyone in the group, not just the ones with money to burn. This is when some knowledge about the people on the guest list comes in handy: are you all in the same boat financially or will someone struggle to do much more than a night out? If everyone’s up for forking out a few hundred on a long weekend, great, but don’t start planning anything until you know roughly what everyone’s willing to spend.
How much does stag party planning cost?
Much like a stag party in general - how long is a piece of string? At Lets Go Out, our stag party planning is all about delivering the best stag do possible for a cost that won’t break the bank. We’ll get to know you, the stag and your group and put together the perfect stag party plan for you.
Who should I invite to the stag?
Stag parties are usually a strange mix of school friends, family, and work colleagues, and it would be impossible for you to know who to invite without consulting the groom -to-be. The whole point of the party is to make sure that the groom has a good time, so best to leave the guest list up to them. However, the last thing you want to do is herd a group of 40 drunken revelers around town, so keep an eye on numbers. The average number of people on a stag is 13, which seems a sensible number to us!
When should I start to plan the stag party?
It used to be the tradition to have the stag send-off on the night before the wedding (whose terrible idea was that)? These days people like to leave some recovery time in between the stag party and the big day, so the first thing to do is confirm the date of the wedding! Then ask the groom when they’d like to hold the get-together and pick some dates for people in the group to check their availability. The key is not to give people too many options or you’ll be going back and forth for weeks! If you manage to find a date that everyone can attend, happy days, but don’t be surprised if there’s a few people that are hard to please. Peak season for hen and stags is May – July, so bear that in mind when it comes to booking accommodation and activities. Basically, it’s never too early to start planning.
What should I do next?
Get excited! You’re about to start planning a fantastic party for your best mate that he’ll hopefully remember for years to come. Being chosen as a Best Man is an honour, and he’s trusting you to arrange a send-off to mark the end of his life as a single man. But don’t feel like you have to plan the party to end all parties completely solo! Ask for help when you need it.
