And what better way to shake of the lockdown blues than getting outside for some fun, fresh air, and crazy combat simulation?

We’ve rounded up some of the best places to play Paintball and Airsoft in the Northampton area, so read on and start planning your next visit!

What’s the difference between Airsoft and Paintball?

Curious about the difference between Airsoft and Paintball? In a word: realism. With Airsoft there is much more emphasis on realistic battle simulation, with magazine-fed weapons and military strategy playing a big part in the game play.

Airsoft guns are usually replicas of real guns and have semi or automatic modes that shoot the 6mm plastic pellets up to 150ft! But most people agree that the pellets hurt less than paintballs because they’re fired at slow speeds.

With paintball the guns shoot, you’ve guessed it, balls of paint. With Airsoft they shoot the much more realistic plastic pellets (otherwise known as BBs). Because you don’t have the tell-tale splat of paint to make others aware you’ve been hit, Airsoft players use an honesty rule of raising their hand and shouting ‘hit’ instead.
