Go Karting in London

Published on: 10/09/19

If you’ve already read our blog on ‘why try go karting’ then you’re probably raring to go and find a great track near you! It’s such a fun way of spending time with your kids or with a group of mates, but be warned, your competitive side will come out! Once you’ve been round the track a few times you’ll be eager to develop your cornering technique and improve your time.

So, if you’re looking for a fun activity to keep the children entertained this summer, or you’re planning a birthday or stag/hen do, go karting should definitely be on your list! If you live in or around the capital, here’s our top picks of go karting venues in London.

Oasis Project, South London

Oasis Project in Lambeth is the home of The Right Track, part of a charity that uses go karting and other activities to develop confidence and skills in children both with and without disabilities.

All children over the age of 8 are welcome to go along and drive petrol engine karts on the outdoor track, with no previous experience required. There is a club with events throughout the year, and the site also offers an adventure playground and nature garden to encourage inquisitive minds!

Go Karting on Ice, City of London

Racing a go kart on ice might sounds crazy, but that’s exactly what you can do at Queens in West Linton. Perhaps you’ve already tried more traditional go karting and want to give it a go on a completely different surface, or just like the idea of whizzing around on ice!

It’s worth bearing in mind that it’s only available for over 18s and they only allow a maximum of 8 karts on the rink for safety reasons. After you’ve done a few laps on the ice, you can cool down even more with a drink at the rink side bar!

TeamSport Tower Bridge, East London

TeamSport have recently doubled the length of the track to 800 metres, by permanently joining two tracks together at their international circuit. Race the electric karts on the amazing multi-level track and you can reach speeds of up to 40mph!

The venue has loads of facilities, including free parking (very rare for London) and a bar. Minimum age for karting is 13.

Traq Motor Racing, Croydon

A short drive outside London takes you to Traq Motor Racing with over 40 years of experience in go karting and motor sports.

They have loads of ‘arrive and drive’ options, or you can even bring along your own machine and have fun on the ¾ mile off-road circuit. They welcome people of all ages and abilities and are happy to host team building corporate events too.

Revolution Karting, East London

Revolution Karting has been called the ‘hidden gem’ of karting, with a 750m floodlight track that is the fastest in London. Drivers can reach speeds of 45mph! They have a fleet of 36 custom built electric karts that are known for their acceleration ability. They also host grand prix and endurance events, as well as open race sessions throughout the week.
