Surf’s Up

Surrounded by no less than 10 beaches and bays, packed with surfing possibilities, no wonder Newquay is the surf capital of the UK, and home of British surfing. You’ll find Cornish Wave Surf School & Adventure Activities delivering exhilarating experiences daily at Towan beach & Fistral beach, in the heart of Newquay's abundance of perfect waves.

For beginners, group surf lessons are a great introduction to surfing in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. Welcoming to all ages and abilities, no experience is needed at all, and you can join daily group surf lessons as an individual, with a partner or small group of friends. You can also book your own private couples, family or group session. Or if you’re looking to learn at your own pace or step up, fast, then a private one-on-one lesson will definitely take you to the next level!

If standing up seems a step too far, a belly-boarding lesson will take you through swimming with fins, duck diving waves, turning and even catching unbroken green waves. Surfing and belly-boarding lessons are two hours long; fun, safe and educational, and include all the equipment. If you get the bug, a Surf Day Package includes a group surfing lesson and use of your wetsuit and surfboard for the rest of the day to relax and practise what you’ve learned!

Making it Adventurous

Why stop at one day? Cornish Wave Surf School & Adventure Activities’ popular Adventure Weekends are centred around their purpose-built wild camp, hidden in private woodlands deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside. Combine fun woodland activities like axe throwing and cooking over an open fire with picking up a surfboard, jumping off cliffs, sea kayaking or relaxing with some paddleboard yoga.

Perfect for solo travellers, couples or friends, the weekend brings like-minded people together to connect through shared adventure in a relaxed hosted environment. With everything provided (you can even rent a sleeping bag) and little hints of luxury, it’s wild camping in Cornwall without any hassle!

Surf Camp weekends are designed for those wanting to soak up a whole weekend of surfing and sociable unwinding and activities in the woodland wild camp. Three progressive surf lessons in and around Newquay’s famous surf beaches, you’ll go wherever the waves are best on this “Surfari” weekend. Relax with Surf & Yoga, where post and pre surfing woodland yoga sessions provide an ideal opportunity to unwind and re-energise whilst surrounded in nature.

Using the camp as a base, enjoy a weekend exploring the coastline with a unique Surfing, Coasteering & Wild Camping weekend package. If you’re visiting the area and want to best the waves without dragging equipment along, Cornish Wave Surf School & Adventure Activities have top-notch equipment for hire, including surfboards, bodyboards, kayaks, paddleboards and warm wetsuits, in all shapes and sizes for flexible hire lengths.

They’ve also recently added unisex, easy to ride e-bikes from Rad Power Bikes to the hire options. Compact and designed for easy street and coast path riding, these bikes practically do the work for you! Whatever activity you pick, it’s a fantastic way to explore the wild side of nature and get a unique view of the secluded, wild scenery of the Cornish coastline.
