The Western Approaches Museum is as authentic a war museum as you're likely to find. Beneath Liverpool City Centre, this once top-secret bunker was the strategic hub where the Battle of the Atlantic was masterminded. It's barely changed since the doors closed in 1945!
Visitors are able to wander from room to secret room, analysing original documents and tools which were used to pinpoint enemy locations and give the Allies the upper hand. There's even one of two surviving phones which had a direct line to Winston Churchill's infamous War Rooms!
