Nordic Walking started in Finland as out-of-season training for cross-country skiers and has now become one of the fastest growing recognised fitness activities around the world.

Nordic Walking is an exhilarating, enjoyable activity which is gentle on the joints, easy to learn and offers many more health benefits than walking alone. At Way2Go Adventures we provide introductory workshops and technique courses in and around the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Who is Nordic Walking suitable for:

• Those who don’t enjoy going to the gym but would still like to take part in some form of activity.
• Those who like the idea of an outdoor workout activity.
• People of all ages and fitness levels and can be done almost anywhere.

We offer half day and full day trips on a variety of sections of the River Wye, between Glasbury to the north and Chepstow to the south where the river joins the Severn.

River Wye canoeing is a must-do activity, whether you are visiting the area for the first time or looking for a special day out or group adventure. Whatever the weather or time of year, the valley is breathtaking and full of wildlife and even if you have never paddled before this is the perfect way to explore the Wye Valley.

A half day canoeing trip takes approximately 3-4 hours and a full day trip takes around 6-8 hours including a stop for lunch. The timing depends on the flow of the river and the pace you paddle at.

Gorge walking/scrambling is a great activity all the year-round and can be enjoyed by most people including families, groups, stag parties, hen parties, school groups, youth groups, and is great for corporate events.

No matter the weather (you’re going to get pretty wet anyway) this is an adrenaline-filled, challenging and rewarding adventure!

It is one of the most popular activities in the Brecon Beacons due to the many beautiful gorges, rivers, and waterfalls in the area. On a gorge walking/scrambling trip with us we’ll show you a side of the Brecons you won’t see any other way, including some stunning hidden waterfalls only accessible by river.

We have many years of experience taking people kayaking in the Wye Valley and around the UK. Our qualified instructors will put you at ease and ensure that you all have a great day out on the River Wye.

Kayaking on the River Wye is the ideal way to view this stunning region including its cliffs, forests and landscape, and its wildlife. Can your group work together to keep you afloat? Raft Building in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire is the perfect challenging and fun outdoor activity for groups including families, celebrations such as birthdays, corporate events (especially team building), youth groups, school groups and any other type of group!

We begin by putting you into small teams and then give you some time to discuss a winning design for your raft. The raft must be big enough to hold all of your team and strong enough to carry you through a set of challenges designed by us. Can you create a raft to make Bear Grylls proud?

When the raft is built we will get you kitted up. Once you are ready, you will have a quick safety brief followed by the instructions for your first challenge! Then you are ready to get on the water and the racing begins. The real test for any raft is: how long will it stay afloat? Let the best team WIN!!

Stand Up Paddleboarding is easy to learn, safe to do and most importantly is so much FUN! Way2Go Adventures is pleased to offer Stand Up Paddleboarding sessions here in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley with the support of the Forest of Dean District Council Economic Development Fund.

A cross between canoeing and surfing, SUP is great for family days out, children’s parties, couples, hen and stag parties, holidaymakers and much more.

We provide SUP in a variety of locations in the Forest of Dean and on the River Wye in the Wye Valley. A standard introductory lesson lasts for 2.5 hours.

We will provide everything you need to take part in the session of SUP: a board, a paddle, a helmet and a buoyancy aid.
