The Longholme
The Longholme is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire, and offers a professional and friendly team to help you have a great time and enjoy the experiences available.
Hidden back from the main road over the river you can find us on Longholme Island between the upper & lower Great River Ouse. Join us for breakfast, lunch or hire one of our boats.
Our humble venue is open to all and has been refurbished to benefit all who use the river & local area.
The Longholme Café sits lake side with ever changing views, plentiful wildlife and a guarantee that you and your party take away with you something that we like to call 'The Longholme Life' - let us look after you, enjoy the view, love the people your with and let us do the rest.

We've been at it, replicating our old fleet to bring you this brand new, unique and special design of dragon style boats, iconic to Bedford boating lake.
Check our opening schedule below to be sure, but as a rule the boats will be open on Saturdays and Sundays and during local school breaks, weather permitting.
We recommend using one of our life vests provided at no extra cost. Your boat will be cleaned before you ride, with staff on hand throughout your hire.

- NO ROCKING OR BUMPING INTO OTHER BOATS
- NO SPLASHING OTHER USERS ON LAKE
- DO NOT LEAVE THE BOAT DURING THE HIRE
- NO MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE IN ANY ONE BOAT
- RETURN ON TIME OR YOUR DEPOSIT WILL BE DEDUCTED
- NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THE BOATS, EXCEPT BOTTLED WATER
- RESPECT WILDLIFE AND NESTING AREAS – DO NOT BOARD THE ISLANDS.
- DO NOT DISEMBARK THE BOATS WITHOUT STAFF ASSISTANCE.
