RHS Tapeley Park
Explore somewhere you have not visited before. Enjoy the ethos of Tapeley Park with its rich and fascinating variety of flowers, shrubs and vegetables, the latter grown on organic principles. We have one of the finest Permaculture gardens in the country.
The walled kitchen garden is a delight with its rare greenhouse built in the early 1930s, rebuilt in 1950 and again in 2011. It houses fruit trees, many of which have survived the passage of time and still thrive in the sheltered, fertile environment. There are greengages, plums and varieties of pear such as 'Pitmaston Duchess' and apple trees that include 'Lady Stucley', 'John Standish' and more.

Admire the Italian garden where the beds were originally dug by hand. All manner of semi-tropical and tender plants thrive in the south-facing borders against a retaining wall. Walk down through the wood to the lake and picnic in peace and quiet, save for the birdsong.
