Bush Craft at Fort Purbrook is used as either a full programme, or as individual progressive sessions, Bushcraft is a new and exciting activity here at Fort Purbrook that teaches young people the wide range of bush craft skills necessary to survive in a wilderness scenario. Young people get to understand which elements can be utilised in conjunction with newly acquired skills; such as learning to construct a shelter, safely lighting a campfire using natural materials, and using campfire gadgets

Participants must navigate their way around the centre to find various markers, working as a team and using only a map.

Mountain Biking at Fort Purbrook is a relatively new addition to the centre. Improve your skill on a bike with a MTB session which we have tailored to match participants age, ability and previous experience. We can offer off-site routes which promote better bike control but will also challenge each person to push themselves to the edge of their comfort zone.

Bouldering at Fort Purbrook takes place in the Cellars, providing a stimulating and safe environment to learn and progress your climbing skills. Accessed via a network of underground tunnels, the Cellars boast two indoor purpose built bouldering rooms.

Air Rifle Shooting at Fort Purbrook is ideal for both adults and children and we provide opportunities for all to safely try air rifle shooting . Our two indoor ranges are available with qualified instructors to demonstrate all the basics and teach you to acquire new skills! You need to control your breathing, keep a steady hand, concentrate hard and focus on being as accurate as possible. Do all this and you should be rewarded with a good score and a real sense of achievement.

Archery at Fort Purbrook is a sport which can be enjoyed by all abilities. It’s a great skill to learn, and we can show you how in our three indoor archery ranges, for the more adventurous we also run an outdoor range in the moat within the centre (weather permitting). Fully-qualified instructors will guide you through the basics and teach you to acquire the skills to get your very own ‘bullseye’.

Laser Tag at Fort Purbrook is now included as part of our activity programme. This activity is fantastic for young and old alike, participants embark into our purpose built woodland Laser arena for this high tech, high-action activity. They must work together using their phasers to ‘laser’ their opponents, whilst developing their stealth and strategy techniques as well as communication, hand eye co-ordination and team work.
