Alpaca Trek | 2 Hour Visit
Our most popular activity, this really is the best Alpaca Trek there is.
On arrival we will introduce you to your alpaca and give you a safety brief/demo and of course chat all things alpaca.
The 2 hour visit includes a walk of approximately 75 minutes depending upon our pace on the day.
We head up into the surrounding hills of Beirhope and take in the stunning views of The Cheviots, Eildons and of course the stars of the show – your alpaca.
See our local Roman Fort, hear tales of our Reivering ancestors and listen out for the marching Roman legions. A great way to make memories, have fun and get out into the countryside.
Bring along your camera and a drink for along the way – we will have plenty of stops to enjoy these stunning surroundings.
On return to the farm for the remainder of your visit you are welcome to bring along your own refreshments and enjoy these overlooking our alpaca paddocks or get those last minute photos of your trekking buddy.
Useful Information
- Please note that there is a maximum of 2 people per alpaca. There is a surcharge of £10 for the person sharing the alpaca.
- Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
- There may be other guests on the activity - private/bespoke visits can be arranged.
- On arrival, please remain in your car to be met by a member of the Beirhope team in readiness for your activity.
- Treks are 75 minutes of walking; all routes include hills and gravel tracks. Please let us know if you have any medical or physical conditions that may make a trek or stroll unsuitable.
- Treks and strolls are not suitable during pregnancy.
- We cannot delay the start of a trek, and we cannot return to the start to pick up late arrivals. If you miss the start of the trek you will not be subject to a refund or to reschedule. Please check your directions before setting off to avoid missing your trek.
Alpaca Hike (3 hours)

Alpaca Hike | 3 Hour Visit
A 3 hour visit to take in the stunning sights, rolling hills and of course the stars of the show – our trekking alpacas.
We will head up into the hills surrounding Beirhope taking in the views of the Cheviots Hills, the Eildons and learn all about our local history of Romans, Reviers and alpacas.
A great photo opportunity so make sure you bring along your camera!
You’ll be introduced to your alpaca, and a safety brief/demo will take place prior to going out on the walk. We will give you a pocket full of treats for your alpaca buddy – they will soon become your best friend with wee treats along the way!
We walk for approximately 2 hours – 2.5 hours depending on the pace set on the day. Please feel free to bring along a bottle of water – we take stops for photos and to catch our breath.
On return to the farm you can meet and feed our other alpacas. A picnic area is available to you for the remainder of your visit; bring along your own snacks & drinks and relax after your hike while overlooking the alpacas.

Alpaca Stroll | 1 Hour Visit
For those looking for a gentle walk then our Alpaca Stroll is perfect for you.
In this one hour visit you will meet and feed your alpaca, get a safety brief/demo before heading out on our walk.
The walk goes up a gentle hill looking out over our wee farm, usually lasting around 30 minutes.
You’ll be given some treats to feed your alpaca with lots of opportunity for photos along the way and after we return.
You will be given time before and after the walk to watch the alpacas and feed treats (which we will supply) to your chosen walking partner!
The Stroll is perfect for those looking for a gentle walk with an alpaca.

This 30 minute visit is a great way to meet alpacas, get some fab photos and learn some fun alpaca facts.
This activity is great for all ages and perfect for our younger guests who are below the age limit to walk the alpacas.
We will supply you with treats to feed the alpacas and try to answer all of your alpaca questions.

Paca Picnic & Ice Cream | 1 hour
Experience a picnic like no other. Pack up your favourite treats and head to Beirhope. Enjoy a relaxing hour in the heart of the Cheviot Hills, with exclusive use of our picnic area overlooking the alpacas in their paddock.
With hot water hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser on the table, you can enjoy feeding the alpacas a few treats too! Includes a delicious Giacopazzis ice cream*.
*120ml tub available in dairy, vegan or sorbet.
Please Note: In case of inclement weather, an undercover area will be available to enjoy your picnic. This will not be in direct view of the alpacas but will be sure to keep you nice and dry!
