T6 Harvard Flying Experience

The Harvard was the next step for a WWII trainee RAF fighter pilot. We can offer an incredibly rare opportunity to have a trial flying lesson in one of these aircraft. The Harvard is much more powerful than the gentle Tiger Moth, it is a sturdy all metal aircraft with a retractable undercarriage and 600 hp PW radial engine which makes it much more like a fighter to fly. This made the Harvard the ideal trainer for an aspiring fighter pilot.

The Tiger Moth is a classic 1930s open cockpit biplane that most of the RAFs pilots learnt to fly before progressing to such types as the Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster, Sunderland etc. There are only a small number of Tiger Moths that remain fully certified for Trial Flying Lessons. Therefore, this represents a rare opportunity to undertake a flight in one of these classic aircraft and experience what it was like to be a trainee pilot in WWII.

Sightseeing at its most civilised with our de Havilland Devon pleasure flights. A throw back to the dawn of mass air travel, when the de Havilland Devon was THE short haul passenger airliner to be seen in during the 1950s. Following WWII the de Havilland Devon was leading the expansion of scheduled flights, the Devon was used by many airlines in the UK and remained part of the Royal Flight until the 1970’s. As such, our Devon recently featured in the Netflix production ‘The Crown’.
