We offer a variety of on-site challenge activities designed to develop teamworking skills in a fun environment. Working physically as a team strengthens communication and co-operation together as friends and family! Both stretching and challenging the body and the mind, as well as entertaining, challenges can be suitably adjusted for all ages. Through planning and problem-solving, groups learn to work together effectively.

Our centres have easy access to single-pitch and multi-pitch crags in stunning locations, with enough to challenge the most adventurous rock athlete! Our on-site climbing walls make excellent all-weather options, and are also a great place for beginners to practice their newly learned skills and experts to hone their craft, as well as practicing bouldering techniques. Climbing develops dexterity and confidence and many people overcome their fear of heights through abseiling back down again!

Discover and understand more of the natural world around you, how to tread lightly on the earth and learn how to live a life that “leaves no trace”. From building a fire from scratch, learning how to cook outdoors and bushcraft techniques, to foraging techniques and the flora around you, venture deep into the ancient Scottish woodland to discover what’s around you. (Toasted marshmallows or haggis cooked underground optional!)

Step right into the mountains and over the streams, where you find your soul sings, as you connect with the beauty of the place around you and discover more about the Creator. Whether it’s enjoying a walk along a sheltered loch, or climbing a series of Munros, we will tailor the day (or days) according to your desired level. Nothing quite compares to the allure of the bothy or tent set up in a unique spot after a day’s walking.

Combine a mixture of caving and climbing and you have weasling! Does squeezing into tight spaces and enjoying our unseen underground environment sound like a truly crazy adventure? This all-age activity is particularly suited to young people and is a fascinating scramble through boulders and narrow passages helping to build team work and confidence. This day activity can easily be made into an overnight camp.

Journeying by mountain bike is a great way to explore and experience the beauty of nature. With a wide network of trails through stunning woodlands, many with natural features to enjoy, our centres are well situated to offer some of Scotland’s best riding, whether it’s for a day or multi-day expeditions with overnight stays. With local bike parks right on our doorstep, don’t miss giving mountain biking a try with your group or family – we’ll take you to some of our favourite hidden places!

Whether it’s on calm pools on a loch, white water on a river, to a varied coastal journey, an expedition on an open boat is an exciting challenge. Unlike kayaking, an expedition in a Canadian canoe allows a shared experience and a chance to work as a team – as well as an easy way to carry equipment for nights away. Experiencing the stunning lochs, rivers and coastlines of Scotland is a must-do adventure!

See a different world come to light in front of your eyes when you access places where no-one else can with a coasteering adventure! The beautifully rugged north coastline of Scotland, one hour’s drive from our Nethybridge centre, provides the fun of jumping in and out of the water, and the curiosity and dexterity of sea level traversing. With many places to camp, this day-long activity can also include an overnight expedition, creating special memories after a day in the water.
Gorge Adventure

Experience the difference of being “in” the water rather than being on the water. As you climb through the gorge, feel the strength of the water rushing past you in this exciting new world, clambering through deep pools, narrow channels and thundering waterfalls. On the way back, find out what going with the flow really means! The gorge adventure is perfect for Autumn, where the water is warmer and the levels higher. Mixed aged activity available for water confident swimmers.
Sailing

Sailing, whether in dinghys or big boats, is a brilliant way to get out on the water. Even better is the experience of falling in the water (or trying to keep dry!) as your dinghy sailboat responds to a light touch, working with your team mate to keep the boat afloat and learning how to navigate and control a craft. This activity is based from our Nethybridge on Loch Morlich at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains. In the future, yachting will be by prior arrangement through our Trust Office.
