The Paddlepower scheme is a progressive award scheme to provide a development pathway for young paddlers. The first session is the ‘Paddlepower Start’ that will get you into a boat and paddling, safely. Subsequent sessions enable you to progress and develop your paddling experience and skills. Each session is approximately 2 hours.

Theory briefing, dry land simulator, on the water experience with the instructor alongside you in the safety boat or on the water. Theory briefing covering equipment, sailing techniques, wind directions and weather conditions

ALL THE SWIMMERS AT LEYBOURNE LAKE ARE REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE A ONE-OFF SWIM INDUCTION. THE INDUCTIONS ARE DELIVERED IN A FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT BY OUR SPECIALIST OPEN WATER COACHES AND WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES. THE INDUCTION WILL INCLUDE USEFUL GENERIC COLD WATER SWIMMING TIPS AS WELL AS SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT OUR LAKE AND SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS. ANYONE UNDERTAKING THE ASSESSMENT SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF AT LEAST A 200M SWIM.

WHETHER YOU'RE A KEEN YOGI, GREAT AT SUP OR JUST WANT TO HAVE A GO OUR COACHES WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP. CHILDREN MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 5 YRS OLD TO ACCOMPANY AN ADULT ON THE WATER.
