JandJ Alpacas is very much a family-run business, with over 90 alpacas in Dry Doddington, in between Newark and Grantham. Offering the ultimate Alpaca Experience - a perfect view from the Coffee Shop, wander the Alpaca Trail or join one of our unforgettable experiences.
We serve yummy breakfast, lunch, delicious coffee, homemade cake, and Afternoon Tea with a view. Our outside seating is perfect on a sunny day, overlooking the paddocks, listening to the alpacas munching grass. Browse the shop with all thing’s alpaca - scarves, hats, socks, cuddly alpacas, and more gifts. Our alpaca wool is individually spun creating unique souvenirs to take home or gifts for friends and family.
Our alpaca trail and woodland wander is the perfect countryside walk, meeting all of our gorgeous and inquisitive herd of alpacas. You can retreat to the alpaca centre as often as you like or spend all your time with the alpacas! Our woodland wander can be enjoyed at any time, giving you the freedom to see the wildlife through the different seasons.
We offer a number of alpaca experiences for all age groups. Our experiences range from meeting and greeting the alpacas to trekking, ensuring we have an option for everyone, whatever their age or ability!
On our Meet & Greet Experience you will have the chance to get up close to our alpacas and watch them in their paddocks. A 20 minute experience suited for all ages, where you are taken into the fields by one of our experienced guides to meet the alpacas, feed them and of course take lots of photos!
Walk with one of our beautiful alpacas on an unforgettable Alpaca Trekking Experience! Wander past our ponds and through our small woodland on an hour long on farm experience. The experience will start with a safety brief and meeting your alpaca. We have 7 trained trekking boys and experienced guides who will walk with you answering questions and assisting throughout the walk. The walk will last around an hour with some stops to feed the alpacas, breathe in the countryside and take plenty of photos.

Come and meet our gorgeous alpacas! On our walk and talk you will have the chance to get up close to our alpacas and watch them in their paddocks. A 20 minute experience suited for all ages, where you are taken into the fields to meet the alpacas, feed them and of course take lots of photos!

Useful Information
- You must be moderately fit – walking with a large animal around uneven ground
- Trekking will take place in all weather conditions unless unfit for the alpacas
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, suitable for uneven ground (can be muddy). Although our farmland is flat, it is always a bit breezy here. No umbrellas please
- Our walk is unsuitable for buggies/pushchairs & wheelchairs/walking aids
- 13+ can lead an alpaca on their own, an adult (18+) must accompany children age 16 and under
- 8-12 years must lead an alpaca with an accompanying adult (double lead)
- Under 8’s unfortunately cannot join Trekking however, we have a special mini experience for them - Meet & Greet Experience
