The Beatles took inspiration from their home city of Liverpool when writing many of their world famous songs, so let our expert guides drive you to the very places that inspired these much loved songs and lyrics.
The 3 hour Beatles Tour of Liverpool includes the same locations from the 2 hour tour including the childhood homes of John, Paul, George and Ringo, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, where John and Paul first met plus the location where John sang in a church choir. You’ll be able to stand outside all four of the Beatles homes as part of the tour. Find out just how big Beatles Mania was and how it affected the families of the Fab Four.
Itinerary
The childhood homes of John, Paul, George and Ringo: Hear about the Beatles’ families and find out why John and Paul used to practice in the porch! Discover which songs were written in Paul’s front room. Find out how why jelly babies were delivered to George’s house for his birthday. Photograph the sentimental pub just around the corner from Ringo’s home and school.
Penny Lane: See the famous street that its in our ears and in our heart and which helped coin the 1967 hit. You’ll be able to see ‘a barber showing photographs’, the ‘shelter in the middle of the roundabout’ and find an old bank for a banker with a motorcar!
Strawberry Field: The inspiration for John Lennon’s 1967 hit. Have your photograph taken by the famous red gates to Strawberry Fields and find out why John loved it so much. Where John met Paul: Considered to be the most important meeting point in music history. You’ll go to where John Lennon met a 15 year old Paul McCartney for the first time in 1957.
Eleanor Rigby tomb stone: In the same place where John was a choir boy you will also be able to see the real life tombstone that possibly influenced the famous 1966 song. Macca the choir boy: You’ll pass by the church where Paul McCartney and his brother Mike used to sing as choir boys.

Who were the Fabulous Foursome who made up the Beatles? How did these ordinary boys from Liverpool become one of the most famous bands in the world? Find out by jumping into one of our Fab4 taxis. Our expert drivers can take you into the worlds of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
The first Beatles home on our Fab 4 Childhood Homes tour belonged to George Harrison. We go to the house where George’s music career was ‘getting going’, to use his words. Screaming fans congregated outside this house as an ordinary boy morphed into a world famous star. What must the neighbours, in this unassuming suburb of Liverpool, have thought?
You’ll then head over to the house where John Lennon grew up under the watchful eye of his Aunt Mimi. Here you’ll delve into some of the complex relationships that he had with his family and how this affected him. There is so much emotion tied to this house, no wonder John Lennon needed to pour it all out into his songs.
It’s not far until Paul McCartney’s family home. This is where Paul and John wrote many of the Beatles most famous songs. You’ll find out how Paul’s family influenced his music, from listening to his mother when she told him to ‘Let it be’ to choosing to which instrument to play.
There’s no music without rhythm, so the fourth house belonged to the Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Ringo came from very humble beginnings in a two-up-two-down bedroom house with no inside toilet. On this tour you’ll hear how he became one of the greatest musicians in the world
This 2 hour tour takes a look at the events and people that helped shape the Beatles and their songs. Throughout the tour there’ll be plenty of photo opportunities; your driver will entertain you with anecdotes and trivia and, you never know, by the end of the tour you may find that you have a new favourite member of the Beatles!

Welcome to the City that made the Beatles!
If you’ve got an hour to spare in Liverpool, our Beatles Early Years Tour of Liverpool is an entertaining introduction to both the Beatles and their home city. The tour will give you an overview of the Beatles rise to success, and talk about some of the significant people in their lives.
During the tour you’ll be able to get out of the taxi and see some of the locations up close. This city centre tour also takes in some of Liverpool’s stunning architecture and provides some great photo opportunities, including a plaque showcasing John Lennon’s iconic glasses.
The tour starts off with the registry office where John married his first wife, you’ll find out why this was hardly the romantic wedding of Cynthia’s dreams! Then you’ll step back in time and see the place where Lennon was born. As you drive along Hope Street (which links Liverpool’s two Cathedrals) you’ll pass the stunning Philharmonic Dining Rooms which you may recognise from Carpool Karaoke, when Paul McCartney gave a surprise concert – not the first time the Beatles have done this!
You’ll pass Brian Epstein’s old flat and discover which Beatles song was written here. You’ll get to see Paul McCartney and George Harrison’s old school – yes they were friends before the days of the Beatles. Just around the corner is the attractive 19th Century terrace where Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe shared a student flat. The last location on the tour takes you to the beautiful Georgian street where Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager was born.
Throughout the tour your talented taxi driver, with a local knowledge of the city, will entertain you with anecdotes and trivia about the Beatles and Liverpool. As with all of our tours, you’ll hear Beatles songs and find out about the events that inspired the songs.
Whether you have time in between meetings, before catching your train or you’re simply looking for something different to try, this tour is a Fab way to spend 90 minutes.
