Brockleby's Pies is based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, and offers a professional and friendly team to help you have a great time and enjoy the experiences available.
The Jalland family have been farming in and around Melton Mowbray for over 500 years, and in 2003, cattle farmer Ian Jalland founded Brockleby’s. Originally a farm shop in Asfordby Hill, Melton Mowbray, Ian’s aim was to serve the community with high-quality local produce, from his own farm and those of other local farmers.
Being from Melton Mowbray, we naturally produced the authentic pork pie in our shop, and quickly expanded the pie range to over 20 different products. Overwhelmed by the popularity of our pies, we soon began travelling the country to retail them at farmers’ markets and food festivals, as well as at our own shop.

Ultimate Pie Making Workshop

This unique 3 hour workshop will teach you everything that you need to know to produce a traditional Melton Mowbray Pork Pie to rival the professionals. Step by step you will taken through the process starting with hot water pastry and finishing with making the gelatine.
The workshop will take three hours with the option of a take away delicious ploughman’s lunch. You will take home your very own Melton Mowbray Pork Pie to bake or freeze for a special day and a baked pork pie ready to eat.

Our Pie Making Experiences involve a talk on the history of Brockleby’s and the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and the chance to make your very own Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. You can take home your creation on the day, or we can chill it until you’re ready to collect.

Bread Making Experience

Make, bake and take home 2 loaves with a bread tin and small jar of local honey!
2 hours of instruction from our professional baker in a working bakery!
This bread making class is hands on from the start.
The small group of participants on the bread course will be fully instructed on how to make a spelt loaf and whilst this is proving they will make a delicious spring onion and mature cheddar soda bread.
If you are looking for something fun to do with Mum, Dad, friends or family this culinary class is a rewarding cooking experience where you can develop your baking skills and take home the recipes too.

Sausage making is a super useful skill to have and a great deal of fun! Starting with a little history and using a hand held stuffing machine, you’ll learn everything there is to know about the satisfying art of clean label* sausage making including:
