Stone houses time, medieval barn, village church, Abbey and The George Pub… frozen in time. Any Harry Potter fans in the house? Lap up all the movie location sites in these rickety old lanes. Ditto for Downton Abbey, and Pride and Prejudice movie buffs.

So real that it’s actually unreal. One good thing leads to another. The city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, does justice to its immodest description…’a drop of golden honey in a sea of green’. The walking tour is your best bet to ogle shamelessly at the best Georgian architecture in all of Britain, including the Gothic Abbey and ancient Roman Baths. No, dips are not permitted. This stop would easily bag the showstopper title of your entire trip. The Somerset countryside is a stone’s throw away, but that is another story.
