Looking for some a fun activity this summer that doesn’t rely on dry sunny days (and let’s face it, in the UK you always have to be prepared for rain)? Jump into trampolining! With more and more indoor trampoline parks popping up over the UK, there’s never been a better time to give it a go. The best part? They’re indoors so you don’t have to check the weather forecast before you go.

Here’s our choice of top trampoline parks in and around Northampton:

Boost Trampoline Park Northampton

Located in the Riverside retail park, Boost Northampton is an indoor trampoline park with an impressive selection of activities. Visitors will be spoiled for choice with over 50 interconnected trampolines to bounce and play on. There’s also two Extreme Dodgeball Courts, a Wipe-Out Zone, Battle Beam and Basketball Hoops for when you want to do something a bit different. One of the most popular areas is the Foam Pit, which does exactly what it says on the tin!

If your kids are a bit too young for the rough and tumble of the main areas, there’s a dedicated toddler area just for them. Parents can watch their kids tire themselves out from the comfort of the café area - or join in if they’re feeling energetic!

Gravity Corby

In a Leisure Park just off Princewood Road in Corby you’ll find Gravity. As well as fun activities for kids, they specialise in energetic fitness classes with a trampolining twist! The High Intensity Interval Training Classes will get your blood rushing to help you tone, condition, and burn fat in a completely unique way. No matter what your age or level of fitness, you’ll be able to join in as alternatives are shown for each exercise. They guarantee you will leave feeling energised and invigorated (and probably with a big smile on your face)!

Gravity Corby also offer special sessions for those with sensory, developmental, and physical disabilities. Studies have shown that trampolining can help with a wide range of challenging issues, so during the regular sessions the entire park is made exclusively available for SEN users.

Flip Out Rushden Lakes

Based in the Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre, Flip Out has loads of activities on offer, from exercise classes to toddler time to SEN sessions. We like the sound of the After Dark sessions, which cater exclusively to over 18s. Expect a fantastic atmosphere with live music and even cocktails - beats a boring evening in the pub any day! And you can skip the weekly gym session as you’ll have already done plenty of exercise.

As well as the adults-only sessions you can go as a whole family with special Family Time packages or treat the kids to an Annual Pass and enjoy some peace and quiet while they bounce away the hours. Flip Out is also a proud Scout Partner so if you’re visiting with a Scouts group you get a 20% discount!

Jumping for Joy – The Health Benefits of Trampolining

Kids are always bouncing and skipping around, but as adults we seem to grow out of the urge to be playful! Trampolining gives us the chance to be kids again, and this fun activity also holds a host of health benefits. Jumping on a trampoline uses all of our muscles, however high you go. The act of both jumping and concentrating to stay upright helps improve balance, coordination, and posture.

A famous NASA study also found that trampolining helps circulate oxygen throughout the body which increases energy. Improved cellular oxygenation also increases your immunity and resistance to coughs and colds.

The best thing about trampolining is there’s no barrier to entry, anyone can do it. Even if you’re only able to do little bounces, you’ll still get the health benefits. So, no excuses, bounce on down to your local trampoline park and give it a try!
