Published on: 07/09/20

We don’t know about you, but all those months of lockdown has left us with a lot of pent up energy! And it goes without saying that the kids were going stir crazy not being able to go out for months. So, what’s the solution to burn off this excess energy? Get yourself down to a trampoline park! Jumping around like crazy is a great way to let off some steam and blow off those cobwebs from sitting around the house all day. Trampolining is not only a fantastic activity to burn calories, it’s a real mood-booster too. Where can you visit a trampoline park in Derby? Let’s find out…

Oxygen Freejumping Derby

The Oxygen Freejumping Trampoline Park in Derby is open again, with loads of fun activities to enjoy. You’ll find over 100 interconnected trampolines to bounce around on, and extra equipment like a mega airbag, reaction walls, dodgeball courts and a super squishy foam pit!

The most popular session is their namesake, Freejumping, where you can explore the whole park for an hour. They also have special sessions for toddlers when the park is reserved only for kids from 0-5 and their parents/guardians to play in a safe and fun way with no big kids bouncing around!

If your kid has a birthday coming up, the party packages are hard to beat. An hour of trampolining fun followed by food and drinks in a private room. The birthday child also gets a 30-day pass so they can carry on the fun even when the party’s over.

Crazy Golf Derby

If trampolining is not your thing, maybe you should give crazy golf a try? This traditional and slightly cheesy activity has been given a new lease of life in recent years, with more focus on fun themes and impressive artwork that appeals to adults as well as kids. Here’s a couple of great crazy golf courses in Derbyshire:

Paradise Island Adventure Golf Derby

This indoor golf course in the intu Derby centre encourages you to forget about crazy golf, because they are all about ‘adventure golf’! The 14,000 sq/ft arena offers two 18-hole courses with ambitious themes that take you from an abandoned shipwreck to a tropical beach to a rainforest trail. With atmospheric sounds effects and sensations like wind in your hair, you’ll totally forget you’re in the middle of Derby!

At the end of the course there’s a fun challenge - get your ball in the 19th hole and you can win a free game. There are also loads of special offers to take advantage of, from discounts for emergency service and military personnel, to free entry for carers. Students can enjoy 2 for 1 Tuesdays and if you’re over 50, head down on a Wednesday for your special discount.

House of Holes

House of Holes is the intriguing and innuendo-laden name for Derbys’ first adult-only crazy golf venue! Offering drinks, street food and music alongside the golf course, this is not a place to bring the kids. Each of the 18 holes has an individual theme, from the retro and nostalgic to the tongue-in-cheek and outright rude.

The fully stocked bar has enough beers, cocktails, and soft drinks to keep you well lubricated as you make your way round the course. And as you might expect from an adult-only venue, it’s a popular choice for stag and hen parties! It’s a great way to start a night out in Derby with some friends.
