Thrill Seekers at Foylehov Activity Centre

The Causeway Coastal Route in Northern Ireland is famous for being one of the most picturesque road journeys in the world, which is not surprising when you see the stunning sea views and dramatic cliff tops! It’s along this route that you will find Foylehov Activity Centre, just 30 minutes from Derry/Londonderry and an hour from Belfast.

They’ve got fantastic activities on offer amongst this beautiful scenery for those looking for something a little more exciting than a cliff top walk! It’s a great place to visit for a day out, birthday party or team-building event. Let’s look at some of the most popular activities at Foylehov…

Hovercraft Flying Experiences

Riding in a Hovercraft is a uniquely thrilling experience, and Foylehov is the only place in Northern Ireland that you can do it. They really are like no other vehicle out there, using a cushion of air to glide over both land and water at speeds of up to 40mph!

Foylehov have created purpose-built grass tracks complete with water hazards and hairpin bends – but don’t worry, Hovercraft are apparently very easy to operate. Anyone over the age of 15 can have a go, and you’ll be able to get the hang of it in the practice arena first before heading out onto the tracks.

Football Golf

Football Golf is known by many names: footgolf, golf football, and footee to name a few. Foylehov has Northern Ireland’s first purpose-built 18-hole course that will really test your fancy footwork skills.

The aim of the game, as you’d expect, is to kick footballs into a hole in as few shots as possible. Like golf, just with bigger balls and no clubs! The course has loads of obstacles and hazards to maneuver around for a great afternoon in the fresh air with friends.

Target Archery

Enjoyed by many for its meditative properties, Target Archery is a sport with a difference. There’s no better feeling than taking aim and seeing your arrow sail through the air and hit its target, and regular players say it’s surprisingly addictive!

If you want to slow down the pace and test your skills of concentration, then this is the sport for you. It’s also a great activity to group in with the others on offer at Foylehov for a whole day of adventure, while also giving you time to catch your breath!

Powerturn Buggies

Have you ever tried driving a buggy without a steering wheel? These unique all terrain vehicles are called Powerturn Off Road Buggies, and they don’t have a wheel or even handlebars! You steer with two throttle columns that connect to the separate engines powering each rear wheel. See if you can master these thrillingly agile buggies and do a wheelie, power slide or 360 turn!

Foylehov Activity Centre

You’ll have plenty of time with an instructor in the practice area before testing your new skills on the track. Time your laps and see if you can beat the others in your group. As well as the activities listed above, Foylehov also has Laser Tag Combat, Laser Clay Shooting, and loads of other competitive team games. You might need to plan a couple of trips to enjoy them all!
