Published on: 30/09/19

If you think golf is a boring game played by middle-aged men in pastel coloured jumpers on a Sunday afternoon, think again! The new generation of crazy golf has got its sights firmly fixed on a younger, hipper crowd. These golf courses are much more creative and colourful than the mini-golf courses you might have played before, with bright murals and eye-popping visual effects.

So grab your golf balls and get a team of friends together for some next-level crazy golf, with the new generation of glow in the dark courses!

Here’s out top pick of glow in the dark crazy golf courses you can visit around the UK:

Plonk Crazy Golf, various locations

Plonk Crazy Golf was started in 2014 by a group of set designers who wanted to test their creative skills by dreaming up crazy golf courses! They now have seven courses dotted around London, from Hoxton to Islington.

Their aim is to make each course a one-of-a-kind experience and use up-cycled materials from around the area. The newest course is inside London Zoo and takes inspiration from the zoo’s conservation projects from around the world.

4D Golf, Xscape Yorkshire

4D Golf claims to have the UK’s first glow in the dark adventure golf and offers two courses with ‘Search for Atlantis’ and ‘Curse of the Mummy’ themes. Together they form a 15-hole course which features special effects on every hole. Put your 3D glasses on for a truly unique golfing experience!

Globalls, Brighton

A family friendly venue in the fabulous seaside resort of Brighton, Globalls has some truly eye-popping courses of glow in the dark crazy golf, with Jurassic and Tropicana themes.

Courses feature life size sculptures and amazing wall art covering every surface. The 12-hole courses are open 7 days a week all year round, and the air conditioning makes them a great place to escape the heat in the summer!

Ghetto Golf, Birmingham

If you’re a fan of graffiti and street art, then you really must give Ghetto Golf a go! This is inner city golf for adults only, based in the Custard Factory in Digbeth. The idea of Ghetto Golf is not just to play the 18-hole game, but also to enjoy the music of local DJs and relax with a cocktail afterwards.

You can also enjoy food from Slims BBQ Express, a spin-off of Slim’s Porkchop Express in Newcastle. They offer package deals for great nights out, including a golf game followed by a cocktail masterclass.

Glo-Golf, Riverside Bowl, Andover

Glo-Golf indoor glow in the dark golf course has an ‘around the world’ theme which is suitable for all ages and can also be booked as part of their children’s’ party packages.

The Riverside Bowl in Andover is open Tuesday to Sunday and also has bowling, pool and snooker tables and an arcade. After the game you can stop for a bite to eat at their American style diner (with licensed bar for the grown-ups)!
