We’re no shrinking violets at Let’s Go Out, but when the clocks changed and the days continue to get shorter and darker, we understand the urge to sit on the sofa and eat biscuits! But why get square-eyed watching when there’s brilliant winter warmers out there, just waiting for you?! 

This week, we’re heading for the tip of Northern Ireland. Set in the Binevenagh AONB, attractions include the Giants’ Causeway, the historic town and major Golf capital of Portrush, the oldest whiskey distillery in the world, and numerous Game of Thrones locations. 

Causeway Coasteering was founded by lifelong watersports expert Matt Wright in 2010. As is obvious from the second you meet him, Matt’s decades of experience as a multi-discipline surfer and all-round waterman has given him an intimate knowledge, love and respect for the ocean. 

Perhaps the ultimate in multi-terrain, nature-immersive exploration, coasteering is a mix of adrenaline, adventure and exploration that you can make as easy or challenging as you like. Using the coastline as an adventure playground, activities can include cliff jumping, bouldering, clambering, climbing, belly-flopping, swimming, paddling, riding the waves, getting spun around in wave pools, and selected underwater challenges.

New to coasteering or want to take it steady? The two-hour Wee C Introductory Session is the perfect introduction to coasteering. Allowing plenty of time for induction, practice and steady steps, there’s confidence-giving support and reassurance all the way. With the freedom to take it up a stage if and as you want to, get stuck into jumps, wave pools or whatever else you want to tackle!
