Let’s Go Outers love exploring the whole of the UK, and that definitely includes Northern Ireland. So to make the most of mellow September days, we’re heading to Castle Archdale Country Park, located just 20 minutes from Enniskillen in County Fermanagh.

Great for walking and cycling, with over 30km of forest trails including various waymarked trails. Head along the secluded enclosure of the forest, hugging the shore of Lower Lough Erne to take in stunning panoramic views across to Davy’s Island, White Island and further across Lower Lough Erne.

Not just a country park, Castle Archdale incorporates a range of other facilities for the visitor including a marina, day boat hire, watersports, White Island Ferry Service, bike and fishing rod hire, and a caravan and camp site with Play Park.

But we don’t want to stop there! To maximise this wonderful location (and earn your cake!), we’re heading for Castle Archdale Boat Hire & Water Sports, a fantastic activity centre offering a wide range of activities to suit all the family, including boat hire, hydrobikes, kayak hire, water cycle hire.

Hire a stand-up paddleboard, sit-on-top kayak or Canadian canoe and paddle in the sheltered waters of the marina, or explore the local islands around Castle Archdale. Katakanu are suitable for up to 6 persons, offering the opportunity for group or family adventures.

Come sail for a day! Hiring a day boat is the perfect way to explore all that the forty mile-long and five mile-wide Lough Erne has to offer. No previous experience or special licenses are required to hire boats. Full instruction is given and buoyancy aids, navigation charts, and fuel are included in the price.
