Take flight from the top of the Penrhyn Quarry adventure terminal in this dual zip line adventure ideal for kids or anyone not quite up to the white-knuckle adrenaline rush of Velocity 2. After climbing the steps to the Adventure Terminal terrace, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views of the Penrhyn Quarry site and the bright blue lake below.

Having been clipped in by a Zip World instructor, the first of two zip lines will send you flying 110 metres through the air, from the Adventure Terminal to the tower that forms the launch point for your second zip line.

Keep an eye out for the brave adventurers taking part in Velocity 2 as you speed along! Once you’ve landed safely on the tower, you’ll climb another small flight of stairs before zipping a further 90 metres back down to the ground.

Over the 200 metres of zip line there’s an elevation drop of ten metres that lets you pick up plenty of speed, while with two parallel lines side-by-side, it’s a perfect adventure for siblings, couples or best friends to take on together!

Located at the iconic and world-renowned Zip World Penrhyn Quarry site, Quarry Karts is the UK’s only mountain cart experience, seeing gravity fuelled three-wheelers descend an obstacle-filled 3 kilometre slate track.

It all begins with transportation up to the top in our red, military trucks, with the start taking place 1,500 ft above sea level, where you’re treated to incredible views ahead of an intimidating descent that lasts around 3-5 minutes.

The unique vehicles have a low centre of gravity and a wide wheelbase, making them extra-stable, with hydraulic, independent disc brakes that allow you to slide and drift round corners.

Pushing your driving ability to the limit are a series of obstacles including tunnels, chicanes and banked corners, while you get two runs included in your booking – so you can learn the ropes on your first attempt.

Given the challenging nature of this adventure, it’s only suitable for ages 15+, but it makes it a great choice for team building, stag dos and other group activities, with multiple karts on track at a time.

If you love go-karting and driving days, this is a great way to enjoy a similar experience in the truly stunning setting of Snowdonia National Park, with far reaching views of the Ogwen Valley in one direction and the Menai Strait in the other. Once you embark on one of our red ex-army trucks, you’ll be treated to an in-depth tour by an experienced guide of what is the oldest slate quarry in the world. What was also once the world’s largest manmade pit, it’s now filled with brilliant blue water creating a truly stunning spectacle. From the top, you’ll be able to watch the brave zippers taking part in Velocity 2, the world’s fastest zip line, while keeping your feet safely on solid ground!
